California Privacy Policy

This California Privacy Policy supplements our Privacy Policy and applies only to residents of the State of California. It explains your rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the "CCPA"), and how Perry Marketing LLC, doing business as KPCB Edge ("we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses and discloses personal information. Terms defined in the CCPA have the same meaning here.
Categories of personal information we collect
In the past 12 months we have collected the following categories of personal information, from the sources and for the purposes described in the "Our collection and use of personal data" section of our Privacy Policy:

Sources. We collect personal information directly from you, automatically from your browser or device when you use the Site, and from our service providers and advertising and analytics partners.
Purposes. We use personal information for the business and commercial purposes described in the "Uses of personal data" section of our Privacy Policy, including providing the Site and our courses, sending the emails, texts and calls you asked for, analytics and testing, security and fraud prevention, advertising, and legal compliance.
Sensitive personal information. We use sensitive personal information only to send you updates that fit your situation and for other purposes permitted by the CCPA without a right to limit. We do not use or disclose it to infer characteristics about you, and we do not sell or share it.
Disclosure of personal information
In the past 12 months we have disclosed each category of personal information above for a business purpose to our service providers (hosting, database and storage, email and text message delivery, analytics and security) and to professional advisors, and as required by law.
Sale and sharing. We do not sell personal information for money. When Google and our advertising and analytics partners place cookies and similar technologies on the Site, this may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of identifiers, internet or other network activity, geolocation data and inferences for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell or share your name, email address, phone number, benefit finder answers or sensitive personal information. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
Retention
We keep each category of personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above: contact details and consent records for as long as you're subscribed and for as long as needed afterward to show we honored your choices; Site activity records for as long as needed for analytics and testing; and backups for a limited period. See "Retention" in our Privacy Policy.
Your rights
As a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we have collected about you, including the categories, sources, purposes, and the categories of third parties we disclose it to, and the specific pieces of personal information we have collected.
- Delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Correct inaccurate personal information.
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information. Use our Your Privacy Choices page or turn on Global Privacy Control in your browser.
- Limit the use and disclosure of sensitive personal information. We only use sensitive personal information for purposes that the CCPA permits without this right, but you can ask us to delete it at any time.
- Not be discriminated against for exercising any of these rights.
How to exercise your rights
- Opt out of sale or sharing: use our Your Privacy Choices page, linked as "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information" at the bottom of every page, or turn on Global Privacy Control. We honor Global Privacy Control as a valid opt-out request for the browser that sends it.
- Know, delete or correct: email our contact form from the email address you used with us. We will confirm receipt within 10 business days and respond within 45 calendar days (we may extend this once by another 45 days and will tell you if we do). We verify requests by matching the information you give us with the information in our records, such as confirming you control the email address or phone number.
- Authorized agents: you may use an authorized agent to make a request for you. We will ask for a signed permission from you or a valid power of attorney, and we may ask you to verify your identity directly.
"Shine the Light"
California Civil Code § 1798.83 permits California residents to request information about the personal information we disclosed to third parties for their direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. To make a request, email our contact form.
